Report: Everton handed potential Ben White opening after January links as new Arsenal plan…

Everton will be having a busy summer, and Arsenal could do something that encourages the Toffees to push for Ben White.

Back in January, it was claimed that Everton held an interest in White, who had not featured a great deal, although injury has limited his minutes this term.

Thoughts on potentially signing Ben White? 🤔

In the end, the White links were downplayed fairly quickly.

Of course at the moment, Arsenal are gunning for four trophies, and were never likely to sanction exits for too many players.

The defender stayed put, but it was then claimed White would be set for talks with Arsenal about his future if things didn’t pick up for him.

Now, there’s been a claim which might just pique Everton’s interest.

TEAMtalk say White’s position in the squad could come under threat this summer, with the Gunners eyeing an ‘overhaul’ of their defence.

Apparently, Arsenal are considering full-back options, and like Ivan Fresneda of Sporting CP. They have been watching him closely.

Fresneda has long been linked with a move to England, having previously caught the eye playing for Real Valladolid.

With Arsenal keen, White’s future is said to be ‘far from certain’.

At the moment, White is firmly behind Jurrien Timber in the pecking order at Arsenal, failing to get any minutes in each of the Gunners’ last four Premier League games.

Everton should monitor White

With Arsenal monitoring Fresneda, it surely makes sense for Everton to keep tabs on White’s situation.

Who should be Everton’s starting centre-backs for next season? 😬

His injury record is slightly suspect, but there is no doubting White’s quality as a player – and is arguably the exact kind of player David Moyes would like.

White has huge experience at Premier League level, and if there is a possibility he could be sold in the summer then Everton need to be making some enquiries.
