Yana Daniëls, Claudia Mummery-Walker and Heidi all got on the scoresheet as the Clarets secured a 10th straight league victory.

Title rivals Wolves Women also won again, meaning Ross Wallace’s side remain four points clear, albeit having played two games more.

There were two changes to the team that started last week’s victory at Liverpool Feds, with Millie Chandarana stepping into the midfield three.

Charlie Chadwick joined Mummery-Walker in the attacking line, with Burnley-born Naomi Hartley making a welcome return to the bench.

The first half was one-way traffic, with the Clarets dominating the ball and creating much more in attack.

West Brom ‘keeper Charlotte Clarke was forced to tip Charley Docherty’s dropping cross over the bar early on, while Chandarana and Brenna McPartlan both shot narrowly wide before the 20th minute.

Shortly after Jade Richards powered a header wide of a post from a corner, the deadlock was eventually broken with 40 on the clock.

Excellent work from Chadwick on the left allowed her to fizz a ball across the face for Daniëls, and the Belgian’s first-time effort nestled into the bottom right corner.

There was less in the way of goalmouth action at the start of the second half, although Jasmine Matthews did have a firm header saved well by the legs of Clarke.

Kirstie Levell’s first real action of the day then came just before the hour when former Claret Ellie May found herself one-on-one but couldn’t generate the power required.

Wallace’s first change saw Chandarana make way for Emma Siddall, and it was 2-0 after 70 minutes.

Ravening controlled McPartlan’s powerful pass well and slipped through Mummery-Walker, who finished confidently from just inside the area.

Heidi then replaced Chadwick and a later triple change saw Hartley, Tilly Wilkes and Brooke Cairns take the places of Docherty, Thea Paul and Daniels respectively.

Cairns was denied a goal on her first ever Turf Moor appearance by Clarke, but Burnley’s 100th goal of the campaign came in the last of five added minutes.

Heidi reacted to a loose ball to power in from close range and celebrated jubilantly in front of the four-figure crowd in the Bob Lord Stand.

The Clarets are next in action on Sunday, March 8 when they face Rugby Borough.
