Uncomfortable truth behind star’s loan deal that won’t go away | West Ham News

The Axel Disasi loan to West Ham looks like being something of a rarity compared to other short term fixes: Bringing in Carlos Soler or Evan Ferguson in recent seasons has hardly proved effective. Disiasi, however, looks like bucking the trend.

Thank heavens.

However the number of unwanted players pushed out on loans from West Ham continues to grow with each new manager discarding some of the previous crop of unwise purchases.

And at the end of each season, most – even with ‘purchase’ options in place with their temporary loan clubs- are likely to come boomeranging back, unwanted or unaffordable owing to their sky high wages and modest performance. Ward Prowse, Alvarez, Cornet – to name but three.

The latest one likely to be heading back come the end of the season is, according to getfootballnewsitaly.com, hardly any great surprise:

The German joined the Rossoneri on an initial loan deal from the Hammers in January and they have a cheap option to buy. The striker scored a key goal against Lecce some weeks ago but hasn’t started even once in Serie A:

Once a Hammer, always a Hammer – sadly, in Fullkrug’s case

…”He also picked up a toe injury that derailed his progress, making sure that it is now unlikely that Milan sign him permanently from West Ham. It is reported that the 33-year-old is only half fit because of the injury”

Hands up who is surprised. Anybody? Didn’t think so. Quite what West Ham will do with a 33 year old, immobile, £90,000 a week player in the Championship next season doesn’t bear thinking about. One player we hope does have the rumoured 50% relegation clause written into his pay deal.

On the positive side, West Ham in the championship might be the perfect place for their mediocre winger Maxi Cornet: Cometh the hour!
