Everton return to Premier League action this evening – and the Toffees’ starting XI to face Manchester United has just been announced.

David Moyes is looking to get things back on track, after the disappointing defeat to Bournemouth almost two weeks ago now.

The Scot has had a while to stew on that result, and work out exactly why his side are now struggling at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

It’s five games without a win at home, and ideally Everton will be putting an end to that winless run tonight against United.

Michael Carrick has made a big impact so far since replacing Ruben Amorim on an interim basis, so tonight’s game will be far from easy.

Predictably, Jordan Pickford keeps his place between the sticks.

All eyes were on who Moyes would choose at right-back to replace the suspended Jake O’Brien, and it’s Nathan Patterson who has got the nod.

James Garner at right-back, are we confident this team can get the job done? 🤔

In midfield, James Garner and Idrissa Gana Gueye are deployed together once more, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall also in there, potentially playing further forward.

Iliman Ndiaye and Tyrique George will hopefully supply good ammunition from out wide, with Barry keeping his place as the lone striker.

Everton must take the game to Man United

Moyes has issued a rallying cry ahead of this game, and the crowd will definitely be very important tonight.

The players need to feel the support from the off, as they bid to stop a resurgent United.

Undoubtedly the fans will provide that, but it’s then on the players to keep them supportive.

As the home side they need to try and take the game to United and not allowed them any kind of foothold.
