Benjamin Sesko shone from the bench once again as Manchester United defeated Everton 1-0 in the Premier League. Michael Carrick was forced to make a change to his starting line up for the trip to Merseyside when Leny Yoro replaced the injured Lisandro Martinez.
United enjoyed a bright start to the match as Matheus Cunha saw an effort blocked in the box, before Amad Diallo had an attempt cleared off the line. The Reds continued to dominate throughout the first half but found it difficult to create any real opportunities, with Diogo Dalot forced to try his luck from distance.
Everton started well after the break and could have taken the lead when Harrison Armstrong fired straight at Senne Lammens, while Bryan Mbeumo sent a wild volley over the bar from a tight angle. Carrick turned to his bench when he introduced Benjamin Sesko and the striker repaid him with another goal when he finished an excellent counter-attack move.
The hosts continued to push for a dramatic equaliser but could find no way through a resolute United defence and the impressive Lammens in goal.
Here is how we rated the United players as they won on their first trip to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Recovered well after a shaky start when his clearance was blocked by Barry. Great performance otherwise, and he was strong from balls into his box.

A couple of dicey passes, but he grew into the game and read it well. His mobility was useful, but his distribution remained an issue.
3. Leny Yoro - 6.6

The type of no-nonsense defensive performance that was needed from him. He did his job well and also helped United push higher up the pitch.
