Everton player ratings vs Man United as David Moyes gets it all wrong at Hill Dickinson Stadium

Everton were dealt another defeat at the Hill Dickinson Stadium as Manchester United secured a narrow 1-0 win.

David Moyes is struggling to find an answer to Everton’s problems at the Hill Dickinson Stadium as the Toffees near three months without a win on the Liverpool docks.

Benjamin Sesko scored the only goal of the evening in what was a frustrating 90 minutes for the home supporters.

For all of the pressure put on the Red Devils, it was the same old story for Everton as they failed to pose much of a threat on the opposition’s goal.

Who was your Man of the Match in that defeat to Man United? 🤔

There were some solid displays despite the loss

Jordan Pickford – 6

Didn’t stand a chance with the goal and didn’t have anything else to do throughout the game.

James Garner – 8

It does not matter where Moyes decides to play James Garner as he knows exactly what he is going to get from the 24-year-old.

James Tarkowski – 6

Everton’s defence had barely faced any trouble all night, but watching James Tarkowski left behind by Sesko was damning.

Michael Keane – 6

Had Everton’s best opportunity of the game with a strike from around 30 yards out. He is undoubtedly Everton’s biggest goal threat currently.

Jarrad Branthwaite – 6

Playing in the place of Vitalii Mykolenko, it was a solid if not spectacular showing from Jarrad Branthwaite.

Idrissa Gana Gueye – 7

Moyes admitted Idrissa Gana Gueye has looked tired on the back of his return from AFCON. He looked much more like his normal self

Tim Iroegbunam – 7

Set the tone in the midfield in Garner’s absence. However, there was a real lack of quality in some of Tim Iroegbunam’s passing.

Iliman Ndiaye – 6

After two weeks off, Iliman Ndiaye looked full of energy and provided Luke Shaw with plenty of issues when he got on the ball.

The issue of not being able to convert their efforts to attempts on goal was an issue shared across the team.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – 6

Plenty of effort from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, but he was unable to find the magic that he showed against United at Old Trafford.

Harrison Armstrong – 6

Harrison Armstrong’s potential is there for all to see. The 18-year-old does not look out of place in the Premier League, but he is simply not a winger.

A solid display, but Everton need more of an attacking threat, and the blame lies with Moyes.

Thierno Barry – 6

Hustled and bustled all evening long. Despite his efforts, he never looked in danger of posing a threat to Senne Lammens.

Substitutions

Tyrique George – 6

Started off brightly with a surging run and forced a save from Lammens just before the whistle.

Beto – N/A
