Arsenal Women advanced to the Women’s FA Cup quarter-finals after beating second-tier side Bristol City 3-0 at Mangata Developments Stadium on Sunday.
Kim Little opened the scoring in the 25th minute after Bristol failed to clear their lines, before Victoria Pelova’s second-half brace completed the scoring.
Arsenal have now been drawn against Brighton & Hove Albion in the quarter-finals.
The Seagulls won 2-1 away at West Ham United on Sunday after seeing off Championship side Nottingham Forest 2-0 in the previous round.
The fixture will take place between 4th and 5th April, with full details to be announced in due course.
Arsenal beat Brighton 1-0 in the Women’s Super League at the Emirates stadium. The reverse fixture, earlier scheduled for February 15, was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
Across 16 games across all competitions against Brighton, Arsenal have won 15 and lost just once, making them huge favourites for the upcoming tie.
The Gunners are the most successful side in the competition, having won it 14 times. However, they have not reached the final since the 2020/21 season when they lost to Chelsea.
With the WSL out of sight and losing to Manchester United in the League Cup semi-final, the FA Cup is Arsenal’s only chance to win a domestic title this term.
