Manchester United fans left puzzled by star player
Manchester United fans were left puzzled by Bryan Mbeumo in their 1-0 win over Everton in the Premier League. They labelled his performance 'a Mohamed Salah', claiming that he was poor the whole game but still managed to walk away with an assist.
The Red Devils needed a win or a draw to move back into fourth place, and managed to come away with all three points. They struggled to do much in the final third, but a goal from substitute Benjamin Sesko was enough to get the win.
While the fans were delighted with the win, many were talking about Mbeumo's poor performance, saying he still had a big impact on the result despite not playing well. Many posted:
Michael Carrick spoke about the game, admitting that Sesko is frustrated that he is not starting the matches. He added that there is no problem with the striker, and he understands that frustration, but praised the attitude of the forward and said:
"Sometimes that's little steps, sometimes that's bigger steps. He's taking some huge steps recently in terms of the goals he scored and the impact and that confidence and that belief that he's playing with now is great to see. We've obviously got to manage that as well. And we've got some good forwards, so it's one of those decisions that we got to try and get right."
"But I've got no problem with Ben, and he hasn't got an issue. He obviously wants to play, but I can't speak highly enough of how he's been and the work he's putting in and his attitude to come on and do what he's done again. I thought he's finished just with so much confidence and belief and ruthless finish, which sums up where he's at at the minute, which is great to see."
Manchester United remain unbeaten under Carrick, making it five wins and a draw in their six matches so far.

Michael Carrick has claimed that he sees similarities between Senne Lemmens and Manchester United legend Edwin van der Sar. He said that the goalkeeper has become reliable and avoids chaos, saying:
"I definitely see that there are similarities. Without comparing them. I don't want to be comparing them because I don't think it's fair to Senne. But there's definitely similarities. For me, as a goalkeeper, to be reliable, to be trustworthy. Instead of creating the chaos, you want them to take the chaos away and calm things down I think Senne is that."
