Anton Stach tipped for Leeds United exit: “It’s not a surprise”

Anton Stach grabbed headlines on Saturday when he scored from an astonishing free-kick in Leeds United’s 1-1 draw against Aston Villa in the Midlands.

Leeds signed the German midfielder for a deal worth just over £17m in the last summer transfer window, and he has been a huge part of their success this season.

Stach has been a regular starter this season, and apart from his physicality in midfield, he has added a set-piece threat to the Leeds team. He has scored three times from a direct free-kick in the ongoing campaign.

He is being seen as one of the best signings from the last summer transfer window. However, Leeds may have to be careful as big clubs are expected to make a move for Stach at the end of the season.

Anton Stach tipped to leave Leeds United in the summer

Experienced football scout Michael Brown has claimed that he will not be surprised if bigger clubs start looking at Stach as a potential target for the next window.

He is certain that the German will be on the radar of a few big clubs next summer. However, he is confident that Leeds will do everything to hold on to the player in the coming months.

Brown said on Football Insider: “Clubs will be having a look at how Stach is playing for Leeds.

“The top sides always want to know about players who are performing well in the Premier League, so they’ll be keeping an eye on him and making sure they know what he’s about.

“From a Leeds perspective, they have to be doing everything they can to keep him at the club.

“He’s become a very important part of the team under Daniel Farke, and he showed again in the game against Villa why they rate him so highly.

“When he’s playing the way he has been for Leeds, it’s not a surprise that clubs might be looking at him, but it also shouldn’t be a surprise that Leeds don’t want to lose him.”

Leeds cannot afford to sell the midfielder

Stach’s performances in the middle of the park have been one of the key reasons why Leeds are being backed to survive in the Premier League this season.

His set-piece deliveries and ability from free-kicks are a huge bonus and add a different dimension to the Leeds team.

It won’t be a surprise if big clubs knock on Leeds’ door in the summer for the German. However, the Whites must stand firm and resist any offer for him.

Leeds need to build on their first season in the Premier League, if they survive, rather than lose one of their most important players.

If Leeds want to move forward as a club, they can’t afford to lose their best players every summer and keeping hold of Stach will send a message to the rest of the league.
