Leeds United have almost clinched Premier League survival, and that means Adam Underwood will be busy working out ways improve to Daniel Farke’s squad. Lyon’s Pavel Sulc is the latest to be linked.
According to a report from TeamTalk, Leeds are interested in Lyon’s Czech Republic international Pavel Sulc. But, Leeds face stiff competition from Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa.
Landing Sulc would be a statement of intent, but it’s an uphill battle. Sulc has been on fire for Lyon since moving to France from Viktoria Plzen last summer, having a hand in 20 goals in 31 games from midfield.
DISCUSS: Pavel Sulc would be Adam Underwood’s best signing…
He'd be a club-record signing for Leeds!
Underwood will be tasked with new signings, but also sorting out the current state of the Leeds squad. Several players are nearing the end of their contracts, including Karl Darlow, Alex Cairns and Sam Byram.
Illan Meslier, too. There are also a handful of players who see their deals end in 2027, with Leeds already planning contract talks for quartet Ethan Ampadu, Brenden Aaronson, Ilia Gruev and Pascal Struijk.
Strengthening for the future
While departures loom, Underwood will be focused on strengthening their squad. The interest in Pavel Sulc is part of a broader strategy to add quality and depth. He’s not the only potential addition, either.

Additionally, the club must consider the effects of their transfer dealings. Balancing immediate needs with future growth is essential. Leeds must be shrewd in their negotiations to ensure they stay competitive.
