Setting the scene
The biggest home crowd since 1981 with Wolves looking to build on the strong start of the season and Aston Villa looking to extend their unbeaten run from the four games they have so far.
First Half
Wolves get the game underway with good amount of possession early on with having the first shot on goal from Saiss with a close-range header after a decent cross by Douglas.
Wolves make a counter move with Costa who had a clear run on goal denied by Hutton who makes a sliding challenge.
With Wolves continuing to press in the game had another two opportunities with Batth who heads over from inside the are with a set play and Neves known for his spectacular goals just fires wide of the goal from distance.
Villa who has struggled in this game trying to attack the Wolves goal had a moment when Kodjia and Snodgrass do not connect with crosses into the box.
Two further chances by Wolves from Miranda who hits the side netting from 20 yards out and Neves from 35 yards out with Johnstone able to beat it away.
Cavaleiro and Neves both link up well together with Neves shooting wide with Hutton making a good tackle when Cavaleiro was clean through on goal.
With half time approaching Wolves had one final chance in this half of football when Jota goes on a run from halfway out has his shot blocked and from the resulting corner Neves has another chance, but this time Johnstone palms it away.

Second Half
Second half starts with Wolves making a change in the side with Bonatini coming on for Costa with a view of getting more attacking play in the game.
Aston Villa gets the second half underway with both teams looking for the opening goal of the game.
Just 10 minutes into the second half of the match Wolves get the opening goal of the game with Jota getting his 7th goal of the season after a cross by Cavaleiro on the right-hand side finds a touch who evades three Aston Villa players smashes his shot with his left foot past Johnstone at the near post for the opening goal great start by Wolves.
Wolves are now up for this game with the press causing Aston Villa problems in the defence are scenting another goal to try and put the game to bed.
Wolves get themselves a second goal in the game when Jota goes through the defence of Aston Villa tackled by Hutton, but his rebound found by Bonatini who controls with his shoulder and drives a left footed shot into the back of the net from a tight angle to give him his 5th goal of the season.
With both sides making substitutions in the game, it was Wolves late on that made another chance at goal with a move of thirty passes that ends up Doherty who crosses for Jota with a brilliant header only for to be cleared off the line by Johnstone and follow up volley by Bonatini saved with Johnstone producing a great double stop on the goal.
With the game near the end Aston Villa had three great chances in the game with Snodgrass having a free kick which he chipped in hitting the top of the crossbar, Chester and Onomah both had headers wide of the goal.

Conclusion
Wolves climb to the top of the league after this win with this dominant display with Jota and Bonatini making the difference in the second half and Aston Villa unbeaten run over not making many chances in the game not troubling the Wolves goalkeeper.

Setting the scene
The 100th Derby game between the two sides where Wolves come from a defeat in their earlier game losing 1-0 to Middlesbrough and Aston Villa come into the game on a back of a win against Derby County where they won 3-1 and looking to extend their unbeaten run to 6 games.
First Half
Wolves start the game on the front foot with an early attack when Richards chips the ball into the Aston Villa box when Daniel heads it down to Gray who gets ahead of Rimmer and his shot goes over the bar the first chance of the game.
The game starts to hot up with yellow cards for Aston Villa for Evans and Mortimer who are both booked for dissent from the referee who was not standing any messing about in the game.
The opening goal of the game comes from Gray who scores against his former club after a free kick from Parkin back headed by Daniel across the face of goal leaving Gray with a close-range finish good goal for the home side after the early domination.
Wolves continued to press Aston Villa when the ball reaches Gray who links up with Hibbitt and back to Gray squared it to Palmer then to Richards whose header saved by Rimmer one handed so close for another goal.
More relentless pressure by Wolves when Thomas chips the ball to Gray who then plays it to Carr and then passes it to Parkin who joins the attack who crosses it for Hibbitt loses his marker Gibson who heads into space does not convert the opportunity.
Referee is having his say again in the game by booking two Wolves players this time Palmer and Berry.
Villa now starting to get into the game now having their opportunities with Gibson who advances on Palmer with his left foot shoots across the goal.
But Villa gets the goal they wanted with Shaw who equalises with Swain and Thomas both involved in the build up where Mortimer gets involved nicking the ball to Shaw who drives his left footed shot past Bradshaw in the Wolves goal who gets fingers tips to it but should have saved it.
Half time comes where Wolves started the strongest and Villa fight back into the game and the referee having his moments in the game.

Second Half
Second half starts the same way as the first half for Wolves pushing for another goal to put themselves back ahead in the game where Richards sets up Gray who tries to chip the goalkeeper Rimmer who was advancing and saves his shot.
Then a clash of players happens with Ormsby and Richards jump together for the ball and Richards elbows Ormsby in the face and then retaliates back at Richards for the challenge and the linesman intervenes and then referee sends them both off and then both sides are down to 10 men and this will lead to suspensions for both players.
The game has now gone scrappy after the sending off with chances been exceedingly rare as the game was coming near to its conclusion.

Wolves miss the opportunity to pull away, and Villa extend their unbeaten run to 6 games.
