Jadon Sancho believes Aston Villa have done an “amazing job” so far in the Premier League, but has warned: “The job is not finished”.
Villa are in a strong position to clinch a top-four finish and qualification for next season’s Champions League, sitting third in the table behind Arsenal and Manchester City with 11 matches left to play.
Unai Emery’s side made a nightmare start to the campaign, failing to win any of their opening five matches.
But the Spaniard has inspired an impressive turnaround and on-loan Sancho is determined to finish the job.
It is Sancho’s parent club Manchester United who are breathing down Villa’s necks, winning five of their last six matches to move just three points behind them in fourth place, while Chelsea and Liverpool are also in the hunt.
Speaking before Villa’s 1-1 draw against Leeds United at Villa Park, Sancho said: “Being third in the Premier League is not a bad position to be in.
“I think the team, from where we began to where we are now, has done an amazing job.
“But the job is not finished. We have got to carry on, each game.”
