West Ham United and Leeds United are ready to go toe-to-toe to try and sign FC Urtecht star Souffian El Karouani this summer, according to Africa Foot.
Both sides are at the bottom end of the Premier League table and are battling for survival, with Daniel Farke's side currently in 15th place in the table, six points above the Hammers, who are currently in the relegation zone.
Despite their status in the division not yet being safe ahead of the summer transfer window, both clubs are already making plans for what they want to do should they stay up, and they could be set to go to battle over one player in particular.

El Karouani, who has been described as 'remarkable' after registering 16 assists this season from left-back, has enjoyed a sensational season so far and that has attracted the attention of a number of clubs across Europe and Saudi Arabia.
The Morocco international, 25, is out of contract with the Eredivisie side this summer, and a move to the Premier League has previously appealed to him, with the West Ham having a historic interest in his signature.
But they now have stiff competition from within the league, with Leeds also keen on the left-back, and the clubs are set to do battle over a deal to get him to England's top flight.
It's understood that there is currently no agreement in place with any club, despite some reports that he has chosen to sign for Al Qadsiah in the summer, with one source reporting that he will wait until the end of the season before analyzing all of his options and making a decision.

West Ham are currently in a difficult position in the league, but the report states that the London club are considered to be the frontrunners for his signature as things stand, with the club expected to make a formal move in the coming weeks.
The club currently have El Hadji Malick Diouf, Ollie Scarles, and Kyle Walker-Peters who can play on the left, but El Karouani's numbers going forward understandably make him a very attractive proposition on a free transfer.
