West Ham United goalkeeper Mads Hermansen has been very impressed by the budding defensive partnership between Axel Disasi and Konstantinos Mavropanos.
At one point this season, West Ham United’s defensive record was the very worst across Europe’s major five leagues.
There has, however, been a rapid-fire improvement since Disasi joined the Hammers on loan from Chelsea at the start of February.
How impressed have you been with West Ham’s new man? 👏
And should we look to sign him permanently?

Hermansen, who has also played a role in West Ham’s recent turnaround, has been impressed with the pair.
Speaking to The Athletic, he said: “They’ve been solid and they are dominating games they’re playing.
“It looks and feels natural to be part of as well. We train together every day, we talk football and how we can improve together. We’re trying to build on this and get better.”

The two have made three appearances together in the Premier League, games against Burnley, Manchester United and Bournemouth.
During that time, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have conceded only one goal. It is the joint-second best defensive record in the Premier League over that period, with only Manchester United conceding as few.
Things are looking up 😍 So who are we sending down to the Championship?!
Forest? Leeds?……Spurs? 🙏

The most dominant they’ve been is against the Cherries as West Ham drew 0-0 with Bournemouth.
Mavropanos won seven of his attempted eight aerial duels, while Disasi won two of the three he contested.
Indeed, Disasi has made an instant impact at West Ham, while Mavropanos has established himself as one of their best players over recent weeks.
What Axel Disasi has said about playing with Dinos Mavropanos
The statistics above may be drawn from a relatively small sample size, but they are still impressive.
It does raise the question about just how far West Ham might be from the relegation zone had they been able to sign Disasi during the summer transfer window.

Still, what’s done is done. All that the pair can do now is try to keep up this impressive level of form during the final 11 games of the campaign.
If they do that, then perhaps Nuno’s side can drag themselves out of the relegation zone.
Speaking about playing alongside Mavropanos, Disasi told West Ham’s official website: “I think alongside the likes of Dinos, we’re playing well together and getting some good results.”
