Ashley Young thinks David Moyes now has a "big problem" brewing at Everton

Ashley Young was part of the final season at Goodison Park with Everton last term.

The England international left Everton when his contract expired at the end of last season, which prevented him from following his old teammates and David Moyes to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Young has since moved to Ipswich, but even over at Portman Road, the 40-year-old can see just how much Everton are struggling at the new ground.

What would your message to David Moyes be after the loss to United? 😡

Ashley Young says Hill Dickinson Stadium form is a “big problem” for Everton

Speaking on Premier League Productions on Monday night after the 1-0 defeat to Manchester United, the former Everton man said: “I think that it’s a big problem… your home form is massive, especially in this division.

“The club as a whole, when you’re at that club, when you play for that club, you know the size of the club… been in Europe before, so they want to get back to there. But when your home form’s not going as well as what it has done (previously) this season, you know, it is becoming a problem.

“If you’re playing away from home and you’re playing with more confidence and you can’t get that balance right between home form and away form, then you know, it can become your sticking point… whichever way you can do that, they just need the three points at home.”

The defeat to Manchester United means Everton are now winless in their last seven games in all competitions at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

In total, Everton have only won five out of 16 games at the new ground so far this season – with one of those victories coming against Mansfield in the Carabao Cup.

David Moyes needs to start fielding players in their actual positions if he wants to improve results at the Hill Dickinson Stadium

The atmosphere inside the Hill Dickinson Stadium can hinge on the team sheet alone.

Moyes continues to name negative lineups, with a central midfielder playing on the left wing in Harrison Armstrong and central defenders typically lining up in the full-back positions.

It makes for a tough watch with little attacking fluidity on show, which understandably causes fans to grow restless. The players will also surely have it in their minds that Moyes is focused on defending above all else when they see these starting lineups.

Would you make any changes to this team or is that the best XI possible? 🧐

Everton's best XI.

Removing square pegs from round holes, and showing supporters clear signs that he intends to win, could go a long way to making the Hill Dickinson Stadium a fortress like Goodison Park once was.
