Some of the best players this season have been the summer signings – Anton Stach, Gabriel Gudmundsson and Dominic Calvert-Lewin included. The striker has scored 10 league goals this season, with the second highest scorer having just six. Gabriel Gudmundsson has been a solid addition to the backline, and continues to be a key part to the team. Anton Stach has played so well this season that there have been calls for him to make the World Cup with Germany.

Tony Dorigo says Ethan Ampadu is Leeds United’s best player
The most underrated player by far has been Ethan Ampadu; he has been quietly going around his business. He has provided a shield at the back and snuffs out attacks with ease. Tony Dorigo agrees, and says the Welsh international is ‘by far’ the most influential player in the squad.
“Ampadu was superb (against Villa), this season, he’s been far and away our most influential player and best player, a great leader, you then put Stach in alongside him and certainly Saturday we impressed there.” Dorigo said.
“Which player that’s playing makes others around him better? And for me, the outstanding one is Ampadu, he’s calm, he’s organised, he gets everyone around him to do the right thing, and under pressure, he very rarely chooses the wrong option… he’s found a perfect match in Leeds United.”

The Leeds United ownership have big plans for the club, the most important being to keep them in the top flight. They were able to give a huge transfer budget in the summer to build a good team for the Premier League. And now, they have to hope their investment pays off this summer – signing players like Anton Stach and Dominic Calvert-Lewin are good enough to keep any team afloat.
Staying in the Premier League comes with massive benefits; an improved broadcast deal will be agreed soon, and with plans for an expanded Elland Road, the club could boost their revenue. One of the key things this summer will be to renew the contract of Ethan Ampadu; he has been the club’s best player for a long time and deserves to have a long stay in West Yorkshire.
