Eddie Howe makes seven changes - but names strong Newcastle United Xi to play Qarabag

Given that the Magpies boast a 6-1 lead from the first leg in Baku, Howe could have rested most of his first-team performers.

Instead, he has selected a strong starting line-up as Newcastle look to set up a last-16 game against either Barcelona or Chelsea.

Aaron Ramsdale replaces Nick Pope in goal, with Alex Murphy making his first senior start at left-back ahead of Lewis Hall.

Kieran Trippier retains his place at right-back, with Sven Botman back in the side partnering Dan Burn at centre-half.

Sandro Tonali continues at the heart of midfield, with Nick Woltemade and Joelinton playing on either side of him.

Jacob Murphy and Harvey Barnes fill the wide-attacking positions, playing either side of central striker Will Osula.

Yoane Wissa is named on the substitutes' bench as he returns from injury, along with Anthony Gordon, who scored four goals in Newcastle's first-leg win.

NEWCASTLE (4-3-3): Ramsdale; Trippier, Botman, Burn, A Murphy; Woltemade, Tonali, Joelinton; J Murphy, Osula, Barnes.

Subs: Pope, Ruddy, Harris, Hall, Wissa, Gordon, Elanga, Willock, Shahar, Neave.
