Everton boss David Moyes has revealed that his side will be missing attacking threat Charly Alcarez for Saturday's Premier League clash with Newcastle United at St James' Park.
The Toffees head north on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Manchester United on Monday night, with two players added to their injury list.
The pressure is starting to grow on Moyes somewhat after a poor run of form at their new Hill Dickinson Stadium, although they have picked up wins at Aston Villa in Fulham in 2026.
Everton were dealt a huge blow when Jack Grealish was ruled out for the remainder of the season last month, with the Manchester City loanee suffering a stress fracture in his foot.
Now Moyes has added forward Alcarez to the injury list, along with back-up goalkeeper Mark Travers, with both missing the game at Old Trafford on Monday night.
Alcarez is not expected to be back in time to take on Newcastle this weekend, and faces several weeks on the sidelines.
"Charly picked up an injury in the last minute of training yesterday." Moyes said. "I think we’ll probably lose him for a few weeks. Travers damaged his finger so that was his reason as well."
Jake O'Brien back after one-match suspensions following his red card in the defeat to Bournemouth. The right-back sat out the defeat to Manchester United but should return at right-back.
Newcastle will still be withouth captain Bruno Guimaraes, who is out until April with a hamstring injury. He joins long-term absentee Fabian Schar on the sidelines, with the Swiss defender also out until the penultimate month of the season.
Full-back Tino Livramento is on course for a March return, however, and could be back in action in the coming weeks after making good progress following a hamstring strain.
Malick Thiaw returns to the squad after missing the Champions League game with Qarabag through suspension, but midfielder Lewis Miley remains a doubt.
