Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly among a number of Premier League giants who are keen on Brighton star Jack Hinshelwood.
The midfielder has made 19 appearances in all competitions so far this season, being deployed in a number of different positions by manager Fabian Hurzeler.
Over the weekend, Hinshelwood found himself in the unnatural role of being a No. 10, but emerged with plenty of credit in the 2-0 win against Brentford.
Nottingham Forest looked to acquire the services of the 20-year-old during the January transfer window, but ultimately they opted to prioritise moves for Yasin Ayari and skipper Lewis Dunk instead – with both of those pursuits proving unsuccessful.
But Vitor Pereira’s side are not alone in their admiration of Hinshelwood, it has since emerged.
According to CaughtOffside, Arsenal and Manchester City are ‘leading admirers’ of Hinshelwood and have been impressed by his performances so far this campaign.
The Seagulls’ academy graduates’ versatility is viewed as a key asset by both clubs, with managers Pep Guardiola and Mikel Arteta keen to work with ‘young, homegrown players’.
Liverpool and Chelsea are also in the picture and have shortlisted the England Under-21 international as a long-term target.
Brighton are in no rush to offload their No. 13 though, with his contract at the club running until 2028. The Seagulls would therefore reportedly only entertain offers in excess of £39million (€45m) when the summer transfer window opens.
That asking price could still rise before the season concludes too, depending on how Hinshelwood performs over the coming months as Brighton attempt to renew their push for European football.
With Carlos Baleba expected to leave the Amex Stadium outfit this summer, amid interest from all of the aforementioned quartet plus Manchester United, Brighton may also be hesitant to sell two midfielders in quick succession.
Especially as their other options in that department, James Milner and Pascal Gross, are not getting any younger.
