Eric Ramsay has been sacked by West Brom after failing to win any of his nine games in charge, with the Baggies picking up just four points under the former Manchester United coach.
West Brom opted to replace Ryan Mason as manager with Eric Ramsay, who had left Minnesota United in the MLS.
Unlike Manchester United, who made a change in the dugout in January, West Brom did not enjoy an improved run of form under Ramsay.

Michael Carrick, who worked with Ramsay at United, has enjoyed a run of five wins and one draw since returning to Old Trafford. The 34-year-old joined United as a player development coach under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in 2021, before later becoming a senior member of the coaching staff under Ralf Rangnick and Erik ten Hag.

West Brom sack Eric Ramsay in attempt to avoid relegation
West Brom have sacked head coach Ramsay following a 1-1 draw with Charlton Athletic. The result leaves the club positioned just one point above the Championship relegation zone.
The decision to sack Ramsay comes as no surprise because the Baggies have been unable to win a single league match since he took charge.
West Brom took just four points from eight Championship games under Ramsay, but first-team coach James Morrison will step in as interim manager until a permanent successor is identified.

A statement from West Brom read: “West Bromwich Albion have parted company with men’s first team head coach Eric Ramsay. Assistant head coach Dennis Lawrence has also departed The Hawthorns. The club would like to place on record its thanks to Eric and Dennis and wishes them well for the future.”
Ramsay felt his West Brom team had taken “a step backwards,” as revealed in his final press conference after the Charlton game. He remained defiant about his position, stating: “I am not sat here on the back of five losses where the team has not been competitive.
“Over the last four league games, the team has been competitive, it’s fighting and I don’t feel there’s a lack of connection between me and the team.”

Ramsay is a very young coach and he has plenty of time to bounce back from his disappointing spell at West Brom.
What did Ole Gunnar Solskjaer say about Eric Ramsay?
In 2019, Solskjaer expressed excitement at bringing Ramsay to United as a coach to help with set-pieces.
Ramsay was always highly thought of at Old Trafford. It is believed he was recommended by former coach and current Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna.
Speaking about Ramsay in 2019, Solskjaer said: “We’ve been fortunate enough to convince Eric Ramsay to come and join the best club in the world and in the country.
“He’s a very highly rated coach who is going to be working with individuals and in charge of set-plays as well.
“We’re excited. He’s young, fresh and with new ideas, an innovative coach we know from before. Kieran [McKenna] knows him really well from Loughborough, so we’re very pleased with that.”
