Turkish media claim Man United have agreed £4m deal to sell first-team player

Reports from Turkey claim that Manchester United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir will be headed for the exit door as soon as the summer transfer window opens.

Altay Bayindir started the season as Manchester United’s first-choice goalkeeper until summer signing Senne Lammens arrived and took his place.

Bayindir was poor for United at the start of the campaign, though, and the improvement in performances and results since Lammens has stepped up has been blindingly clear.

As a result, Bayindir was linked with a United exit in January but a move never came to fruition. However, with the summer window now fast-approaching, it seems a return to Turkey is on the cards.

According to Turkish outlet Fanatik, Bayindir is set to join Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas as soon as the summer window opens.

They claim Bayindir has reached an agreement with Besiktas and that United are “receptive” to their €5m (£4.3m) offer.

Bayindir has reportedly been a long-term target for Besiktas and they are eager to sign the Turkey international as soon as possible.

Considering that Bayindir is not challenging for a starting spot at United currently, it would make sense for United to be open to his departure in the summer.

Man United can recoup full Altay Bayindir fee

United signed Bayindir for £4.3m as a second goalkeeper option in 2023, striking a deal with Fenerbahce to bring him to Old Trafford.

If reports from Turkey are true, it means United are set to recoup the whole fee they paid for Bayindir three years after he arrived in Manchester.

In total, Bayindir has made 17 appearances for United since completing his move, keeping three clean sheets in the process.

He will be best remembered for his FA Cup heroics against Arsenal where he helped to knock the Gunners out via a dramatic penalty shootout.
