Sean Dyche allowed Arnaud Kalimuendo to join Eintracht Frankfurt from Nottingham Forest in January.
With each passing week, that decision looks all the more curious, with Dyche now back in the job centre after being sacked by Evangelos Marinakis and Kalimuendo producing the goods in the Bundesliga.
Kalimuendo never really got a chance in the Premier League under Dyche or Ange Postecoglou before him, yet ironically, he’d probably be an ideal player in a Vitor Pereira setup.
Who was your Nottingham Forest Man of the Match vs Liverpool?
The striker cost Forest around £27 million in the summer transfer window, and he proved to be a decent player in the Europa League campaign, scoring in successful games with FC Utrecht and Malmö.
With his loan spell going well in Frankfurt, some new information on the player’s thoughts has now emerged.

How Arnaud Kalimuendo feels about signing for Eintracht Frankfurt
According to Bild, the French striker is enjoying his time at Frankfurt and would be keen to remain at the club beyond this season.
Frankfurt only want to sign the player if they can make a return to European competition, and with the club in eighth place in the table, that isn’t a formality at this stage.
MORE FOREST STORIES
Kalimuendo will be sweating on his future, however, with the player very keen to remain in Germany with Frankfurt after scoring three goals and claiming one assist since joining on loan.
Forest have the opportunity to get their money back if Frankfurt do choose to buy him in the summer.
However, with Vitor Pereira now at the club, it might not be the worst thing in the world should Frankfurt decline the purchase option and the player ends up back at Forest if Premier League football is secured for next season.
Forest need Kalimuendo next season
If the player wants to leave the City Ground, then the club might be powerless to keep hold of him, but if Frankfurt don’t buy him deserves a chance in pre-season.
Forest could go down this season, and if that nightmare becomes a reality, he will almost certainly depart the City Ground.
Kalimuendo has been treated appallingly by Forest, and it’s shocking really that Dyche never gave him a chance in the Premier League despite his brilliance in Europe.
Forest need to give Kalimuendo the shot he deserves if safety is secured, and in reality, he could save the club millions if he can prove he’s good enough to get regular top-flight goals in England.
