How Manchester United truly feel about signing Nottingham Forest star Ibrahim Sangare

Manchester United have been linked with a summer swoop on Nottingham Forest to sign midfielder Ibrahim Sangare.

The Ivorian performer was sorely missed earlier in the season when he headed off to the African Cup of Nations and his return to action has been most welcome.

Sangare signed for Forest in the summer of 2023 and it’s fair to say that he’s taken some time to get up to scratch at the City Ground.

His form across 2025/26 has been solid, however, and now an update has come to light on the back of supposed interest from United.

How would score Ibrahim Sangare for his form this season alone?

Let us know in the comments below…

Fabrizio Romano is a man with his finger on the pulse of transfers across football and he’s suggested whether or not, United hold an interest in Forest star Sangare.

Fabrizio Romano says Manchester United don’t want Ibrahim Sangare

Forest fans can breathe a sigh of relief once again after the latest update that has come courtesy of Romano’s official YouTube channel.

Sangare is likely to be on a list of midfielders being courted by United, but it’s believed that, at this stage, there is nothing close regarding bids from the Red Devils for the midfielder.

Romano said: “My understanding, guys, is that Manchester United, at this moment, for Sangare, there is nothing really concrete.

“Also, I told you to get ready because we will hear several names about Manchester United midfielders, and I will be here to clarify to you what’s going on. For Sangare, I’m not aware of anything concrete.”

Forest will lose more than Sangare if relegation is confirmed

Sangare is integral to how Forest play this season, and losing him doesn’t really bear thinking about.

Forest will likely command around double the £30 million which the club paid for his services if he is to leave any time soon.

🤑How much would you consider selling Ibrahim Sangare for based on his form at the moment?

Relegation would almost certainly spell the end of Sangare at Forest, and perhaps United will enter the race to try and sign him if the Reds return to the EFL.

He won’t be the only departure either, with Morgan Gibbs-White linked with a move away from Forest along with Elliot Anderson, Igor Jesus and Murillo.

In the short term, Sangare will be integral to Forest’s survival chances, and hopefully, this can be quickly put to bed in the summer with the club remaining a Premier League outfit.
