West Ham United are set to avoid relegation from the Premier League, according to John Terry.
While West Ham are still in the relegation zone with just 11 games left to play, confidence is high here in east London after a fine run of form from Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
Indeed, West Ham fans are starting to think they can survive relegation, which looked like a nailed-on certainty only a few weeks ago.

Terry has become the latest to back the Hammers to do it, too. When asked for his prediction while speaking to West Ham fan JaackMate on The Double Tops podcast, Terry said: “I think West Ham will stay up, I do yeah.
“Genuinely, I think West Ham will stay up.”
When asked who will be relegated, Terry added: “Wolves, Burnley and Forest are in trouble I think.”
JaackMate also ranked ex-Irons hero Craig Dawson above the likes of Terry and Rio Ferdinand as the best defender in Premier League history in his view.
To take nothing away from Dawson, that was presumably a joke. Still, a smiling Terry said with a knowing look: “How good was he from set plays?!”

Why pundits keep backing West Ham to avoid relegation
Terry follows the likes of Joe Cole, Sam Allardyce and Alan Shearer to suggest that the Hammers could avoid the drop.
That is because West Ham’s recent form has been brilliant. Over the past six games, they sit sixth in the Premier League’s form table, having amassed 11 points by winning three games, drawing two and losing one.
Only Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal and Bournemouth have picked up more points during that time.
There is an increasingly loud chorus backing the Irons to beat the drop as a result.

Hammers News exclusively told how West Ham feel about relegation
It’s easy to see why pundits keep backing Nuno’s side. They are playing very well right now and six games is surely enough to suggest that this isn’t just a flash in the pan.
However, it would be foolish to suggest that the Irons are out of the woods yet. Unless they can make up ground on Nottingham Forest, they are heading for the drop.
Earlier this week, Hammers News spoke to sources close to the West Ham board.
They told us that the West Ham board think Nuno could need as many as 41 or 42 points to stay in the Premier League.
They currently sit 17 points off that tally with 11 games to play.
