Berrada and Wilcox‘blitz’to sign 19-year-old–Manchester United officials set to travel

In the January transfer window, Sport Witness covered the situation of Tromsø talent Jens Hjertø-Dahl, amidst Premier League interest. Another player at the Norwegian club is now attracting attention, and has interest from Manchester United.

The man in question is Abubacarr Sedi Kinteh, who has already played once for the Gambian national team.

He is a centre-back and has emerged as a key player quickly since joining from Academy Mawade Wade in March 2025.

Corriere dello Sport now carry a report about the teenager, detailing Manchester United’s interest.

Red Devils planning trip

The newspaper report that Manchester United are planning to bring Sedi Kinteh to Old Trafford in the summer. Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox are drawing up a plan for the youngster and there will be a scouting trip in Norway to watch him closely.

This has been described as a ‘blitz’, with relations between the English side and Tromsø said to be quite positive. Manchester United have previously watched multiple games, and Corriere present this attempt as being serious.

Chelsea, PSV and Ajax have also made moves for the centre-back but Michael Carrick’s side are leading the race. Even if there is no offer in place from Old Trafford, the Red Devils have an advantage over the other clubs.

Praise for Manchester United target

Corriere dello Sport go on to talk about the Gambian’s playing style and describe him as a ball-playing centre-back. This makes it easier for him to make decisions on the ball and get out of difficult situation. He is also someone who is quick in duels and very reliable aerially.

Sedi Kinteh has become an important part of the first-team, playing 27 times in all competitions in the 2025 campaign. His current contract runs out in 2029, with Tromsø valuing the youngster at around €5m.

That is unlikely to be a problem for Manchester United, who see Sedi Kinteh as an investment for the future.
