Leeds United manager Daniel Farke will hold his pre-Manchester City press conference this afternoon.
Leeds United welcome Manchester City to Elland Road this weekend and ahead of another big game in LS11, Daniel Farke will hold his pre-game press conference today.
The Whites drew 1-1 at Aston Villa last time out, with Anton Stach’s brilliant free-kick cancelled out by substitute Tammy Abraham. Farke expressed disappointment at the late concession after full-time but a point against Champions League-chasing opposition is no bad thing indeed.
Leeds took that impressive point from Villa Park without Noah Okafor, who picked up a hamstring injury during the FA Cup win at Birmingham City earlier this month. The Swiss winger is also expected to miss out this weekend but Farke could provide an update later today, having initially revealed a prognosis of two-to-four weeks.
Farke will also get the chance to provide an update on Gabriel Gudmundsson, who struggled in the first-half at Villa before being removed at the break. The Swede was struggling with illness, rather than injury, so should be okay for Saturday barring any unforeseen setbacks.
The Leeds squad has been in pretty good health recently and touch wood, that remains the case going into the weekend. Should any players have picked up issues during the week, Farke will no doubt mention them this afternoon.
That so many first-team players are currently available has left Farke with a decision to make at times and last weekend, Facundo Buonanotte was left out of the squad again. The on-loan Brighton man has regularly been a topic of press conference questions and could be once again today.
Daniel Farke on selections calls, late goals and Man City approach
Away from team news and selection calls, Farke could be quizzed on late goals again. Leeds have conceded 14 times between the 76th minute and full-time while scoring just six in the same period - that is the worst late record in the Premier League and a problem that needs addressing.

Villa’s late goal starved Leeds of a rare away-day victory but it’s been a different story at home, with Farke’s side giving bloody noses to the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United already. The Whites boss will be hoping to replicate those kinds of performances rather than the one major disappointment against Arsenal.
A 5.30pm kick-off isn’t quite the night game Leeds have relished this season but it’s not far off, and the floodlights will be on. Elland Road becomes an even more difficult place to go later in the day and Farke might be asked how he plans to use the incredible atmosphere to his side’s advantage against title contenders City.
Finally, Farke will no doubt be given the chance to speak about Saturday’s opponents and their manager Pep Guardiola, with whom he has a good relationship. City have been in top form recently to close in on Premier League leaders Arsenal, with quality throughout the squad including Leeds fan Erling Haaland.
Daniel Farke is due to hold his pre-Manchester City press conference at 1.30pm. Stay tuned for live updates...
