John Terry has again aired his frustration with the lack of managerial opportunities that have come his way - and Darren Bent believes the ex-Chelsea captain would have "a lot to offer" and its "bizarre" no one has given him a chance.
The five-time Premier League winner retired in 2018 and quickly became assistant at Aston Villa, working under Dean Smith as the Midlands club were promoted from the Championship. Terry has also held a coaching consultancy gig with the Blues.
But no offers to lead a team have come his way despite a number of his ex-England colleagues all seeing doors open. The likes of Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard and Wayne Rooney have all been given opportunities, largely off the back of their stellar playing careers.
Terry enjoyed a similarly impressive playing career, captaining Chelsea to a plethora of titles, and Bent understands why he's rattled with how his managerial career hasn't taken off.
He said on talkSPORT: "I can, he did a good job as Dean Smith's No 2. I found it surprising that he left, I thought he'd be leaving to become a manager. For someone who has that much experience the knowledge he's got, the clubs he's played for, the trophies he's won, he's got a lot to offer. It does surprise me he's not been offered a role.
"I think back to that Golden Generation and those who wanted to become managers, most of them have. They've all had opportunities to do what they wanted to do, and it is clear JT wants to be a manager, but for whatever reason people haven't given them him an opportunity."
Terry hasn't shied away from voicing his frustration and felt he should've been given a chance to show his worth at Chelsea when they axed Enzo Maresca. Instead Calum McFarlane was appointed momentarily, but the former player thought he was worthy of a go.

He told the Golf Life YouTube channel : "Not annoyed, probably more frustrated, because I was certainly part of that Under‑21s group that went over.
"So even if I didn't take the team… Calum took the team, did really well, got a result out of the game. I feel like I should have been part of that.
"Now listen, people have got to make decisions. I love it when people make decisions and they go 'yes' or 'no'. Clearly the ownership, or whoever made those decisions - the sporting directors - have gone 'no' not to include me, for whatever reason. I don't know why."
