West Ham Utd join forces with Lyca Mobile as runners take part in Track Night

Runners of all backgrounds from across east London were joined by West Ham United star Tomáš Souček who was on hand to support those who participated in a guided 5k run at London Marathon Community track in Stratford.

The Czech midfielder not only supported runners, but also provided tips and support to everyone in attendance through a Q&A session, before happily posing for plenty of photos with the several hundred in attendance.

The free event left everyone enthused, it saw runners enjoy a guided warm-up led by West Ham United coaches and running experts, before a 5k run expertly led by Mackyard Events, a local running club that supports community events, including providing pacers to support those looking to break their PB.

Runners also enjoyed light refreshments were also available throughout the evening, including Red Bull from the Club’s Official Energy Drinks Partner. Following the run, toasted BrewDog’s new 0.0% beer, Mello, from the Club’s Official Beer Partner.

Speaking following the Track Night, Soucek said: “It was a pleasure to come and support the runners this evening.”

“During my time at the Club, I’ve seen first-hand the positive impact it has on the local community and tonight was another fantastic example of that.

“Running has a powerful way of bringing people together and can benefit your physical and mental wellbeing. It’s brilliant to see the Club creating opportunities like this for people of all ages and abilities to get involved.”

The Club’s Track Nights allow members of the local community to have a safe space to run, meet new people and ultimately achieve their own fitness goals. Following two successful events in 2025, the Hammers Track Nights are aimed at providing a supportive and motivating environment for runners of all abilities, whether they are already active or looking to restart and take a positive step forward.
