Injured Liverpool star now spotted alongside Rio Ngumoha before West Ham clash

After several weeks on the sidelines, Jeremie Frimpong has been spotted at the AXA Training Centre just over 48 hours before Liverpool take on West Ham United.

The Dutchman picked up his latest injury just four minutes into the 6-0 win over Qarabag in the Champions League on January 28.

He has gone on to miss Liverpool’s last four Premier League matches, leaving Arne Slot short of right-back options.

Joe Gomez is slowly making his way back to fitness, but with Conor Bradley also sidelined, Slot has had to use various midfielders out of position.

However, the Liverpool manager suggested Frimpong was close to a return prior to last Sunday’s meeting with Nottingham Forest, which Dominik Szoboszlai started at right-back.

Now, the Reds have shared an Instagram post featuring various players at the AXA Training Centre on Thursday.

One of the photos posted shows Frimpong walking down the stairs along with teenage sensation Rio Ngumoha.

It’s yet to be confirmed by Slot if his fellow countryman is ready to start a match just yet, but his return will be a big boost during a period when Liverpool are playing three matches in six days.

Liverpool injury list before West Ham United

Prior to Saturday afternoon’s meeting, Liverpool do not have that many players out of action, despite what Slot may say.

Alexander Isak is expected to return from his long-term problem at some point in March.

Bradley, mentioned above, will be out for the remainder of the campaign, along with young centre-back Giovanni Leoni.

Wataru Endo is another who could be out for some time, while Slot seems confident Florian Wirtz will be back this week.

But with Gomez already back in the squad and Frimpong seemingly now close to a return, Liverpool’s injury list is shrinking, and there is now depth in most positions.
