The CEO of Red Bull has strongly denied claims that Jurgen Klopp could be replaced as the group's head of global soccer by Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner.

And Oliver Mintzlaff, who was a driving force in recruiting legendary Liverpool boss Klopp at the start of 2025, has appeared to also reject speculation about the 2020 Premier League winner making a sensational return to management.

Klopp left Liverpool in the summer of 2024 after nearly nine years at the helm and officially started his current role in January of last year, with the focus on overseeing the development of all the football clubs within the stable of Red Bull, who own seven in total.

However, speculation from Germany this week claimed the organisation would not stand in Klopp's way if he was to return to coaching but Mintzlaff has shot down reports that Palace boss Glasner, whose future at Selhurst Park remains unclear, will step in.

“This is complete nonsense and completely plucked out of thin air," Mintzlaff said. "On the contrary, we are extremely satisfied with the work Jurgen Klopp is doing.

"He invests a great deal of time and effort, he is in constant communication with our coaches and sporting directors, and continues to develop our Red Bull football philosophy in a sustainable way.

"We are convinced that he is the right man for this job. That is where we are putting all our focus and energy.”

Earlier this month, Klopp's long-time representative, Marc Kosicke, claimed both Manchester United and Chelsea had made plays to recruit the former Reds manager after he left Liverpool.
