Chiellini offers update on Vlahovic’s future amid contract stalemate: “If we can do something”

Dusan Vlahovic has been linked to AC Milan regularly over the past few years, and with his contract expiring, this may be their best chance.

The attempts to sign Vlahovic in recent years have never gotten further than they have in the past 10 months. On several occasions, it has seemed like Milan were a step or two away from bringing the Serbian to San Siro.

Yet, he has remained in Turin instead, and there is a chance that he will continue to play for Juventus after this summer, perhaps an opportunity missed once again.

Massimiliano Allegri has repeatedly asked for his former frontman to join him in Milano, but little to no progress has been made, despite the fact that he can now sign a pre-contract deal.

Vlahovic to remain in Turin?

After their elimination from the Champions League, Giorgio Chiellini spoke to Sky, via Calciomercato.com, about his future and recovery and it seems there is a chance he remains with the Bianconeri.

“Let’s not forget Vlahovic’s absence, which is no small thing. He’s been a key player for many years, and doing without him for four months wasn’t easy, and we paid the price. He’s close to returning; he should return after Rome to train with the team and help out in the final push.

“There’s mutual respect, and we’ll find time to discuss and see if we can do something together again. He’s a player who truly represents these colors, as we saw with Kalulu’s goal against Lazio, and we’ll see if the conditions are right for us to continue together.”
