West Ham United will be attempting to emulate an achievement realised only four times before in the club's history this weekend - namely trying to secure victory win against Liverpool at Anfield.
It's one of the worst recent domestic records in the entire footballing pyramid, with West Ham having achieved success on the red side of Stanley Park just twice before 1963 and only once since - from a total of 58 attempts.
Mark Noble and Dimitri Payet were on target back in 2015 for a 3-0 win, on the only occasion West Ham have left Anfield with a win since the heyday of The Beatles. Since then, West Ham's record reads played 12, won 0, drawn 2, lost 10.
But with the club's need considerably more urgent at the present time, Nuno Espirito Santo - whose most recent trip to Anfield resulted in a 3-0 win for former club Nottingham Forest - is plotting a way to unlock a far from in-form Liverpool defence.
And if he manages to do so, Santo will join an elite club of West Ham managers - consisting of Syd King, Ted Fenton, Ron Greenwood and Slaven Bilic - to have escaped Merseyside with three points.
It should be stated that prior to 1963, West Ham's record at Liverpool hadn't been particularly bad, even if it has never been a considerably happy hunting ground for the Irons.
Wins in 1928 (3-1 under Syd King) and 1954 (2-1, Ted Fenton) combined with draws in 1925 (0-0), 1926 (0-0), 1931 (2-2) and 1957 (1-1) meant that the club's record was reasonably respectable until September 1963, when goals from Geoff Hurst and Martin Peters secured a 2-1 win for Ron Greenwood's side.
And had you stated at the time that it would be another 53 years before the Hammers tasted victory at Anfield again, it is likely you would have been told to give your head a wobble. But that is indeed how it transpired, with West Ham repeatedly returning from Merseyside with little to show for their efforts.
