Everton will get the chance to bring in some new faces when the summer transfer window opens

Everton are interested in a move for Hoffenheim defender Ozan Kabak, according to Fussballdaten (via Goodison News). The Toffees are being linked with a swoop for the Liverpool man this summer. They have the chance to bolster their ranks when the next transfer window opens.

Everton eye Ozan Kabak deal

Everton could see Kabak as someone to boost their defensive department. If he joined, he would give them more competition and depth at the back. In addition, he could compete with Jarrad Branthwaite, Michael Keane and James Tarkowski for a place in their starting XI.

The Turkey international, who has 26 caps to his name, has been playing his football for Hoffenheim since 2022. He has become one of their most prized assets over the last four years. The centre-back has made 79 appearances in all competitions and has chipped in with 12 goals from the back.

Kabak, who was born in Ankara, started his career at Galatasaray and rose up through their academy and played 14 times for their first-team as a teenager. He then moved over to Germany for spells at Stuttgart and Schalke before he was loaned to Liverpool and Norwich City. His current club then came calling on a permanent basis and he hasn’t looked back since.

What now for Everton?

Everton are back in action this weekend with an away trip to Newcastle United. They will be looking to bounce back from their loss to United. Speaking after their defeat to his former team, Moyes said: "I'm not happy with the scoreline that's for sure. You have to win games if you are going to keep moving on. We've not been doing that as much as we'd like, especially here [at home].

"We've lost narrowly to United, we beat them narrowly at Old Trafford earlier in the season. I though we did well in lots of bits, we get done on the counter and they get the one goal. We put in effort to score but lacked quality to get the goal. Their goalkeeper [Senne Lammens] did a great job, made an amazing save from Michael Keane, looked as if he could take every corner kick. I thought there was a goal in there for us but we couldn't quite do it.”
