Manchester United also welcome a struggling Crystal Palace team and Brentford would be looking to bounce back to winning ways as they travel to Burnley.

FPL GW28 Captaincy Metrics
Erling Haaland tops the captaincy poll this week with 41% of the votes against Leeds (A). Bruno Fernandes is 2nd with 17% of the votes. Igor Thiago is 3rd in the captaincy poll this week with 10% of the votes. Ekitike who is up against West Ham is 4th, while Virgil Van Dijk rounds up the captaincy picks for GW28.

Underlying Numbers of the FPL Gameweek 28 Captain Picks
Ekitike tops the table with 17 shots in the box, 9 Big chances, and an xG of 3.56 in the last six games.
Thiago is 2nd with an xG of 2.47 in the last six games. He’s also had 6 big chances and 12 shots inside the box.
Haaland is 3rd with an xG of 2.09 in the last six games. He’s had 3 big chances and has had 9 shots inside the box.
Bruno stands 4th with an xG of 1.13, managing 3 shots inside the box and 2 big chances in total.
Finally, Van Dijk stands last with an xG of 1.11 and 5 shots inside the box and 2 big chance.

Liverpool take the top spot and have registered 11.86 xG, 20 Big Chances, and 71 Shots inside the box in the last six games**.**
Manchester City are up next with 51 shots inside the box and 13 big chances during the period, and an xG of 8.86.
Brentford are up next with 48 shots inside the box and 18 big chances during the period, and an xG of 8.60.
Lastly, Manchester United are last with 49 shots inside the box and 17 big chances during the period, and an xG of 8.39.

Fixture Difficulty of the Candidate Team in FPL GW28
In the Third Phase of the Article, we look at the Fixture Difficulty of our 5 Candidates.
We will use DraftHound’s odds for a Team scoring at least one goal in the Gameweek and the Odds of scoring more than 2.0 goals in the Gameweek as a whole.
Manchester City have 90% odds to get at least one goal and 50% odds to get 2 or more Goals this Gameweek vs Leeds (A).
Liverpool are 2nd with 86% odds of at least 1 goal in this Gameweek vs West Ham (H) and 37% odds of scoring 2 or more goals.
Manchester United are 4th with 85% odds of at least 1 goal in this Gameweek vs Crystal Palace (H) and 35% odds of scoring 2 or more goals.
Lastly, Brentford are last with 83% odds of at least 1 goal in this Gameweek vs Burnley (A) and 31% odds of scoring 2 or more goals.

Projections Rank of our FPL Gameweek 28 Captain Picks
In the fourth phase of the article, I used the Anytime Returns and Projected Points tools available at Fantasy Football Hub. With the help of the Anytime Returns Tool, I have derived the Safety Rank, which helps in determining the Safest Captaincy Option of the week, while I have used the Projected Points Tool to determine the Explosion Rank, which helps in determining the Most Explosive Option of the week.
Haaland is first with an anytime returns projection of 66% and a 6.7 points projection in FPL Gameweek 28 vs Leeds (A).
Ekitike is second with an anytime returns projection of 61% and a 6.5 points projection in FPL Gameweek 28 vs West Ham (H)
Thiago is third and has an anytime returns projection of 61% and a 6.4 points projection, while Bruno is fourth with anytime returns projection of 54% and a points projection of 6.4.
Virgil is last has an anytime returns projection of 53% and a points projection of 5.2 vs West Ham (H).

Conclusion – Final Rank from our FPL Gameweek 28 Captaincy metrics
Ekitike is top of the captaincy metrics with a cumulative rank factor of 6, Haaland is a close second with a CRF of 8. Virgil Van Dijk is third third with a CRF value of 13. Thiago is fourth with a CRF value of 14 and Bruno is last with a CRF value 17.
