Arsenal are chasing down the Premier League title this season under the guidance of Mikel Arteta

Arsenal are ‘keen’ on Eintracht Frankfurt defender Nnamdi Collins, according to TEAMtalk. They are being linked with a swoop for the Bundesliga ace this summer. However, they may need to see off competition from the likes of Liverpool, Newcastle United, Brighton and Hove Albion and Brentford in pursuit of his signature.

If Arsenal signed Collins from Frankfurt, he would give them another option to pick from at right-back. He would give them more competition and depth at the back. In addition, he could battle it out with Jurrien Timber and Ben White for a place in Arteta’s starting XI.

Collins, 22, joined his current club back in 2023 and hasn’t looked back since. He has become one of their most prized assets and is under contract until June 2030 so they are under no pressure to sell him just yet. The Dusseldorf-born man has made 58 appearances in all competitions to date, 26 of which have come this season.

The Germany international, who has one cap to his name, rose up through the academy at Fortuna Dusseldorf. He was a regular for them at various different youth levels before Borussia Dortmund swooped in. Collins then spent seven years at Signal-Iduna Park before heading out the exit door.

What now for Arsenal in the Premier League?

Arsenal will want to keep their momentum going against Chelsea. They will be in confident mood after seeing off Spurs. Speaking afterwards, Arteta said: “I am very, very proud and very happy, not for today, but what happened in the last three days because we said: OK, let's love the players when they need it the most. But as well, sometimes the coaches and the staff, we need some love as well. We need some people around them with positivity, drive and who stand up next to you when we need them. And it's been really, really good to work with them in the last few days.”

He added: “Really, really important because obviously the amount of games that we are playing, every competition is just incredible and today gives you a chance to actually take a little breath, analyse what we're doing and go again to the international break. That's when we're going to have a lot of games again.”
