Everton have the chance to bolster their ranks when the summer transfer window opens for business

Everton are positioned in 9th place in the Premier League table after 27 fixtures. They have 11 games left to play this season. The Toffees remain in the mix for a European position if they can find some form.

David Moyes’ side lost 1-0 at home to Manchester United last time out. They weren’t able to find an equaliser against the Red Devils at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. Next up is an away trip to Newcastle United this weekend as they look to bounce back with a positive result.

Everton should target Derby County striker Patrick Agyemang

According to Football Insider, Leeds United and Crystal Palace want Derby County striker Patrick Agyemang. Everton could do with bolstering their attacking department this summer. Therefore, they should join their league rivals in pursuit of the Championship ace.

Agyemang, 25, has been a real handful in the second tier this season and the Rams will face a battle to keep hold of him. If he joined the Toffees, he would give them more competition and depth up top. In addition, he would provide an alternative option to Thierno Barry and Beto.

The USA international, who has 12 caps to his name, has adapted well to life in England and needs to test himself at the top level. He has scored 10 goals in 31 games in all competitions since his switch to Pride Park, as well as chipping in with four assists. His current club will face a serious battle to keep hold of him when this campaign ends amid expected attention from elsewhere.

Why Derby County star Patrick Agyemang would suit Everton

Agyemang is quick, strong and has proved he knows where the back of the net is for Derby. As well as down the middle, he can also play on the left wing which comes in handy. He has potential to get better in the future and has the opportunity to put himself in the shop window at the World Cup later this year.

The Rams snapped him up from Charlotte FC last summer. He was a hit during his days in MLS and fired 22 goals in 72 outings. The Connecticut-born man flourished under the guidance of ex-Brentford and Aston Villa manager Dean Smith in America and is now doing the same for John Eustace.

Eustace hailed Agyemang back in December and said: “We expected a slow start from Pat, but he's progressing into a top, top striker. Still a lot of work to go, but we'll keep working with him. Win, lose or draw, as long as my players are committed and show that level of competitiveness, that's all I ask for. We're not going to win all games, but we're going to be competitive. We're going to grow, we're going to build - this is a long project and I'm really excited to be here."

Everton need to think outside the box with their recruitment ahead of next term. The Football League has been a great breeding ground for talent over recent times and Agyemang should be next in line for a big move. The Toffees have to act fast though amid his links to Leeds and Crystal Palace.
