But specifically, it’s Armstrong’s ability to take on information and quickly understand that is making for encouraging reading.

He said: “The thing we keep hearing about Harrison Armstrong is he’s very good at taking on instructions. I think a lot of people have said that now. That’s what the the noise is coming out of Finch Farm.

“And again it’s quite damning because he’s in that team ahead of Tyler Dibling, £35 million, Charly Alcaraz injured now but you know what was he £12.5 million, Dwight McNeil £20 million.

“He’s in ahead of all of those who would be seen as maybe more natural wide options.”

Moyes has actually admitted as much about Armstrong, stating that it was the biggest compliment he could give the youngster.

Given his recent game time, this is obviously something Moyes regards highly.

And potentially, this is something that other players actually need to follow if they are to break into the team.

Fans have been perplexed by the lack of minutes for the likes of Tyler Dibling, Merlin Rohl and Adam Aznou, who are all young players like Armstrong.

Perhaps they aren’t showing the same intelligence or tactical understanding as Armstrong and is why we haven’t seen then anywhere near as much.
