Diogo Dalot explains what Man Utd players noticed'straight away'about summer signing,'We could see...'

Manchester United goalkeeper Senne Lammens has been sensational this season, earning himself plenty of praise from club legends and current teammates including Diogo Dalot.

After the disaster that was Andre Onana, Senne Lammens‘ bar for being an improvement was always quite low.

However, the Belgian has surpassed expectations and quickly nailed down the goalkeeping position. Lammens has been a massive upgrade on Onana, leaving the former number one little pathway back to playing for Manchester United.

Recently, Lammens has been hailed by Edwin van der Sar, who sees himself in the new United shot stopper. Now, Lammens’ current teammate Diogo Dalot has issued some praise for his goalkeeper.

Do you agree with Edwin van der Sar over his Lammens praise?

He was excellent against Everton, but is he the long-term goalkeeper for United?

Diogo Dalot says he knew Senne Lammens would be a success when he joined

Dalot has been speaking with Sky Sports about Lammens ahead of the weekend clash against Palace, stating he always knew the Belgian would be a good goalkeeper.

“Straightaway, we could see the type of profile he is as a person, which helps in the position he is playing.

“To be a Manchester United goalkeeper, you need to be really balanced because you can get high really quickly and low even quicker. You could see he was a really chilled person; he doesn’t get carried away too often.

“We are really happy with the performances he is having. But for us, it’s not so surprising because we have seen him every day. So I am happy people are getting to see that, but we saw it when he came.”

Dalot will be among the United players most grateful for Lammens’ quality, having seen first hand how terrible Onana was, the backline can finally have some faith in its goalkeeper.

Where would YOU rank Senne Lammens right now in a top 10 of world goalkeepers?

Can he be number one in the future?

Senne Lammens could be Manchester United’s title winning goalkeeper

In a recent ranking by Sports Illustrated, Lammens was named eighth best goalkeeper in the world, a ranking which might seem generous considering his limited exposure to playing at an elite level.

However, the impact Lammens has had on United is huge and he has settled in and brought stability immediately to a position often considered the most difficult position in football.

Lammens has the potential to go on and become number one in the world if everything goes his way, and in that case, he is the goalkeeper who United could win a Premier League title with.

This couldn’t be said about David de Gea in his later years, Onana or Altay Bayindir.

Lammens deserves all the praise he is getting, and now we just have to hope that it continues.
