In the recent 1-0 win over Everton, Michael Carrick welcomed Leny Yoro back to the starting XI as Lisandro Martinez picked up an injury.

Matthijs de Ligt and Martinez are both returning from injuries and will be eager to get back into the side, but United’s talented 20-year-old does not deserve to be dropped.

Amorim said Yoro was ‘really frustrated’ by his performance against Palace. The French defender appeared dejected even after the full-time whistle when United had secured all three points.

Mason Mount consoled Yoro at Selhurst Park and the defender will be desperate to set things straight at Old Trafford.

Leny Yoro will not face Jean-Philippe Mateta again

Last time, Yoro made his mistake on Mateta by taking down his compatriot in the box, but at Old Trafford things will be different.

Mateta is currently out injured for Palace which actually scuppered his proposed move to AC Milan in the January transfer window.

Palace will be without the striker for the visit to Old Trafford, so Yoro will instead be up against new signing Jorgen Strand Larsen.

Strand Larsen will still provide a big physical challenge, but Yoro passed with flying colours when Everton launched a physical siege on United’s goal at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
