Sandro Tonali and Anthony Gordon have both been mooted as options for Liverpool, but deals look unlikely.
Gordon has been ‘unbelievable’ for Newcastle, and talk about a move to Anfield for the winger has persisted for a while now.
Elsewhere, Tonali’s future at St James’ Park has been called into question ahead of the 2026 summer transfer window, with Liverpool being a possibility for the player mooted.

However, it appears the Alexander Isak transfer saga may have had some lasting effects on the relationship between the two clubs.
Newcastle unlikely to sell any players to Liverpool
The Swede eventually arrived on Merseyside on Deadline Day after missing pre-season with the Magpies amid his desire to leave.
It was an unfortunate situation for Newcastle, and comments from Ian Doyle this week suggest they may not get over it for a while.
In a Q&A for the Liverpool Echo, Doyle was asked about the possibility of the Reds completing a deal for Gordon.

He went on to explain that the chances of Liverpool signing any player from the Magpies in the foreseeable future are low.
The journalist stated: “That depends on what the rumours are. If they are ones pertaining to interest in the player from Liverpool, that has certainly been the case in the past. But the prospect of Newcastle United selling anyone to the Reds in the foreseeable future appears as remote as, well, everyone agreeing VAR is a fine introduction and continues to work flawlessly.”

Anthony Gordon responds to Liverpool rumours
As well as Newcastle seemingly being unwilling to do business with Liverpool, Gordon has played down talk of a move as well.
He was asked about links to the Reds in an interview last week, and when they were explained to him, the winger was quick to dismiss the talk.
Gordon stated: “I have gone through enough transfer stuff now to know that it is all a load of rubbish.”
The Newcastle star is the quickest in the Champions League this season, which would be ideal for Arne Slot who wants pace in his forward line.
But Liverpool do have other wide targets they could turn to in the summer, with Yan Diomande among those linked in 2026.
