With their form in the Premier League putting them at risk of relegation from the English top flight Tottenham are seeking solace in the the Champions League and the excitement that comes European nights under the lights.

Spurs impressed during the league phase and finished fourth in the table behind only Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Liverpool. They won five of their eight matches and only lost once with that defeat coming at the Parc de Princes in a 5-3 scoreline against Paris Saint-Germain.

Such form ensured that Tottenham went straight through to the round of 16 and will now wait to see who their next opponents will be.

Having been paired with the third-place finishers from the league phase, Liverpool, Tottenham know that their last-16 opponents will be one of four sides.

They will face either Atletico Madrid or Galatasaray.

Alexander Sorloth scored a hat-trick as Atletico Madrid eventually progressed past Club Brugge 7-4 on aggregate, after the Belgian side came from 2-0 and 3-2 to snatch a 3-3 draw on home soil last week.

Juventus, meanwhile, needed to impress in Turin having been hammered 5-2 in their first leg against Galatasaray in Turkey. The Old Lady scored three goals inside the 90 minutes to force the tie into extra time but Victor Osimhen and Baris Alper Yilmaz scored for the Turkish club to send them through as 7-5 winners on aggregate.

When is the draw?

The Champions League last-16 draw will take place in Nyon at 11am GMT (12pm local time) on Friday 27 February.

The draw will be streamed live on Uefa’s website, YouTube channel and Champions League app.

What are the match dates?

The last-16 ties will take place in mid-March. Here are the remaining round dates:

Round of 16: 10/11 & 17/18 March 2026

Quarter-finals: 7/8 & 14/15 April 2026

Semi-finals: 28/29 April & 5/6 May 2026

Final: 30 May 2026 (Budapest)
