'It needs to be like that': Jarrod Bowen shares what's been happening in the West Ham dressing…

West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen has liked what he’s seen inside the dressing room as the squad pull together for the final 11 games of the season.

Indeed, the dressing room at West Ham has been fractured at times this season, which certainly appeared evident on the pitch at times.

And do you see a long-term future for him at the club?

However, West Ham are united once again, and Bowen believes the character within the dressing room is what is spurring the team on in the relegation battle.

West Ham dressing room is united once again, says Bowen

The Hammers skipper was speaking to West Ham’s official website.

He said: “We’ve certainly got enough, not just talking about quality, but talking about characters and people who are grabbing each other by the scruff of the neck when times are tough.

“It needs to be like that, and that’s certainly a pleasing thing in a changing room, when you can look at your teammate next to you and go, yeah, he’s got my back and I’ve got his back.”

Though Bowen was never going to come out and say the dressing room was in a bad place before, it’s clear that there has been an improvement behind the scenes.

In fact, earlier this month, Tomas Soucek revealed the squad held honest talks within the West Ham dressing room about turning their season around.

It does now seem as if everyone is on the same page at Rush Green, which is having a major impact on the way in which this team operate.

Without that spirit behind the scenes, it’s hard to see how West Ham could have even dreamed of Premier League survival.

Bowen has also been impressed with Axel Disasi at West Ham, with the defender making a big impact since he arrived at the club on loan from Chelsea.

For all the talk of harmony behind the scenes, a team still needs quality on the pitch.

Disasi has certainly brought that. While his long-term future may remain unclear, that’s not something the club have to worry about right now.

Nuno Espirito Santo has worked hard to readdress the balance and harmony within the West Ham squad.

Signings like Disasi have helped that.
