Denmark national team manager Brian Riemer says Man Utd winger Patrick Dorgu is hoping to be available for his country’s World Cup playoff against North Macedonia on March 26th.
The 21-year-old sustained a serious hamstring injury against Arsenal in January, and he is set to be out for up to ten weeks.

However, Riemer claims Dorgu is aiming to be back in action much earlier so he can play in a key fixture for his country:
“Right now, he is reported injured by Manchester United, and he is [out] until April. I know that Patrick has a dream of being ready. I think his biggest motivation right now, when he is running around in that training room, is that he wants to battle everyone and then be ready for that match. I’ll only help him keep that dream alive as long as the opportunity exists.”
What are the chances of Dorgu coming back early?
Major hamstring injuries can take months to recover from fully, so while the Dane seems determined to make it back in order to play a vital role in Denmark’s attempts to qualify for the World Cup, it could prove to be in vain.
In fact, Dorgu could suffer a recurrence if he doesn’t properly manage his recovery, so United fans will be hoping he doesn’t take any unnecessary risks. Buy a Patrick Dorgu short from UK Soccer Shop here.

Dorgu is one of four players currently on the treatment table. Mason Mount (knock) and Lisandro Martinez (calf) are expected to be back to face Crystal Palace this weekend.
However, Matthijs de Ligt (back) is unlikely to return to action until sometime next month.
