The Three Hammers Celebrating Their Birthday Today

**Three West Ham players celebrate their birthday today.**

Tomáš Souček, Alphonse Areola and Callum Wilson were all born on February 27 and celebrate their birthdays today.

Souček turns 31 today. The Czech midfielder joined the Irons on loan in January 2020 at the age of 24, before signing permanently in the summer after his 25th birthday. Souček has made 271 appearances across all competitions for West Ham. During that time, he has scored 45 goals, including 39 in the Premier League.

That makes Souček the 6th highest scorer for the Irons in Premier League history. His most recent goal against Manchester United also made him the top-scoring Czech player in Premier League history.

Goalkeeper Alphonse Areola turns 33 today. Like Souček, the Frenchman originally signed on loan before signing permanently for the Irons. At 28, Areola initially joined from PSG in 2021, playing a vital role in the Hammers’ memorable 2021/22 Europa League campaign.

Areola has made 122 appearances across all competitions for West Ham, more than he has made for any other club. Like Souček, he was part of the Irons’ UEFA Conference League winning side in 2023.

Finally, Callum Wilson turns 34 today. The Hammers’ No. 9 has made 25 appearances for the Irons since his move from Newcastle last summer. Wilson has bagged five goals in that time, with his free transfer proving good value for money so far.

During his spells at Bournemouth and Newcastle, Wilson scored 12 goals in 16 appearances against West Ham, his best return against any side he has come up against. However, he now uses his powers for “good” and even scored a late winner against Tottenham Hotspur in January.

Happy birthday to our three Irons, and here’s hoping that their birthday weekend will be rounded off with a positive result away at Liverpool tomorrow.
