David Moyes explains why Tyler Dibling and Adam Aznou hardly play for Everton

David Moyes appears to have little faith in Tyler Dibling, Adam Aznou and Merlin Rohl.

The young trio all arrived at the Hill Dickinson Stadium last summer with fans expecting them to freshen the side up.

However, Dibling has only made four starts in the Premier League, with Rohl making just two while Aznou has not received a single second of Premier League action.

With Everton on a poor run of just two wins in nine games, supporters have expressed bemusement on our TalkingPoints platform that David Moyes keeps ignoring the trio, and the Glaswegian has now explained himself.

What would your message to David Moyes be after the loss to United? 😡

David Moyes bluntly admits he feels Tyler Dibling, Adam Aznou and Merlin Rohl could let Everton down

Dibling has spent the last three Premier League games on the bench, with Rohl benched for five consecutive matches and Aznou not even named in the last four Premier League squads.

When pushed to explain his odd treatment of the trio, Moyes said: “We’re keeping our ambition, to see if we can make Europe and I want to play the players who have the best chance of getting those results. They need to improve.”

Basically, the 62-year-old feels he has better options. That would be all well and good if Everton were flying right now, but as aforesaid, a run of just two wins in nine games understandably has fans calling for change.

Regardless of how Moyes feels, it is unwise to say this publicly about three young players, two of whom are experiencing their first taste of a season in England in Aznou and Rohl.

Moyes has already criticised Dibling to reporters recently, but gave the 20-year-old no opportunity to respond after leaving him on the bench for three straight games.

If the England U21 international and his two fellow strugglers keep being criticised but are not given a chance to prove themselves, they will surely start to grow quite bitter.

David Moyes was involved in recruitment last summer and has plenty to answer for

If Moyes wanted more experienced players to lean on like Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, he had the power to make it happen.

Alan Nixon claimed on Patreon back in April that the Everton boss was heavily involved in recruitment plans alongside The Friedkin Group, and no players would be signed without his approval.

So, questions have to be asked as to why a £40m signing in Dibling has made just four Premier League starts, while an £8m addition in Aznou cannot even make the squad.

In regards to Rohl, Everton are obligated to buy the German for £17.3m at the end of the season.

So, Moyes has effectively told reporters that he currently has no faith in roughly £65m worth of talent, which is sure to concern The Friedkin Group as much as it worries the Everton fanbase.
