Leeds United were linked with many big names in the summer, but fans were disappointed at the end of the window. The club were in search of attackers towards the end of the window and only managed to add three new faces.
After being linked with the likes of Rodrigo Muniz and Igor Paixao; Leeds eventually signed Noah Okafor, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha. Fans criticized these players before they even kicked a ball at Elland Road.

But they have all proven themselves one way or the other this season. Calvert-Lewin is the club’s top scorer, Nmecha is the second top scorer and Okafor has flashed a lot of potential as the season has progressed.
Daniel Farke’s comments spell out Leeds United truth
Nmecha and Calvert-Lewin have changed places a lot over the course of the season. The German only started getting a consistent run in the team when he was fully fit, and he impressed, showing why the team signed him. And in the absence of Calvert-Lewin in recent games, Nmecha has showed he can lead the line on his own at Elland Road.
Daniel Farke’s comments this week all but solidified the former Everton striker as his first choice this season, as he hailed him as the second best striker in the Premier League.
“Haaland is the best striker in the world. The only one who comes close to him is Dominic Calvert-Lewin.”
This all but confirms Nmecha will be on the bench when the Whites face Manchester City at Elland Road this weekend.

Lukas Nmecha’s efforts are just not enough to be first choice
Lukas Nmecha has scored in three of his last four games for Leeds United, and that has been enough to ask questions if he should be starting over Calvert-Lewin. The England striker has just one goal in his last six games in all competitions. Nmecha has done more with less minutes, and should deserve a chance at a point.
But we cannot forget how well Calvert-Lewin has been this season, and good competition among the attack will only help the club. Leeds fans should be happy they have two strikers who can score goals, and that Nmecha will be ready when called upon at any time in a match.
