There could be up to eight players missing when West Ham take on Liverpool at Anfield.

The Hammers are looking to cause an upset on Saturday as they chase their way out of the Premier League’s relegation zone.

As it stands, the E20 side are just two points adrift of Nottingham Forest, and they could find themselves outside the bottom three at the end of the weekend.

When it comes to injuries, Nuno Espirito Santo holds the bigger advantage, as the latest updates out of both camps are here.

Who will miss West Ham’s clash against Liverpool?

West Ham have more of the rub of the green compared to Liverpool when it comes to injury news.

Nuno will continue to be without the injured Pablo, who is nearing a return to action. Meanwhile, Freddie Potts remains suspended for his red card in the FA Cup.

Lukasz Fabianski, who is the third-choice goalkeeper, is still sidelined, but that, of course, will not be much of a loss.

For Liverpool, Jeremie Frimpong has been pictured in training; however, they will still be without Florian Wirtz, who has not trained after picking up a back injury before Nottingham Forest.

Giovanni Leoni (ruled out)

Wataru Endo (ruled out)

The return of Frimpong gives Nuno a decision to make, and he will need to choose his left-back wisely against the Reds.

However, he will be happy that most of his squad will be available, giving him better odds of a shock result.

The Portuguese manager is certainly capable after picking up a 1-0 win at Anfield with Nottingham Forest last season.

Nuno’s former club showed him blueprint to beat Liverpool – here’s how

Nottingham Forest were unlucky not to get a result against Liverpool last weekend, but at London Stadium, nobody will be complaining that they didn’t.

The Tricky Trees are relegation rivals, but their performance against the Merseyside outfit has provided a way for the Hammers to get something from them.

The key for Vitor Pereira’s side was to be much stronger and more aggressive in midfield than their opponents, and that allowed Forest to put Liverpool under pressure, reducing their ability to create chances.

Slot’s midfielders won just 41 per cent of all their total duels against Nottingham Forest, and while repeating that trick at Anfield will prove more difficult for Nuno, his fellow Portuguese manager has shown him it is possible.
