Aston Villa face Wolves in the Premier League on Friday night, and Unai Emery’s starting line-up has been confirmed for the clash at Molineux.
After salvaging a point last time out at home against Leeds United, Villa will be desperate to return to winning ways as we look to fend off the chasing pack in the race for Champions League qualification.
Our recent record away at Wolves doesn’t make for positive reading, and so this is undoubtedly set to be a tough assignment for Emery and the players, but it’s hoped that we’re able to put that aside and secure all three points ahead of the remainder of the league fixtures this weekend.

As per the club’s post below, Emery has made three changes to the side that started against Leeds, with Pau Torres, Lucas Digne and Jadon Sancho coming in to replace Tyrone Mings, Ian Maatsen and Leon Bailey.
That in turn means Digne and Pau join Ezri Konsa and Matty Cash in our backline with Emiliano Martinez between the posts, while Douglas Luiz continues to partner Amadou Onana in our midfield pivot.
Sancho will hope to add creativity and an attacking threat alongside Morgan Rogers and Emiliano Buendia, with Ollie Watkins continuing to lead the line.
It had been hoped that Tammy Abraham would get the nod after scoring in back-to-back games, while the benching of Maatsen doesn’t seem like a great choice given Digne’s recent struggles. However, there is relief to see Pau return to the starting line-up, while there’s a boost on the bench with Alysson returning from injury.
Nevertheless, it’s hoped that Emery is proven to be correct in his decision-making and we return home with all three points in what would be an important boost heading into a critical end stretch of the season.
