Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has named his starting XI to face Wolves in the Premier League this evening.
He has made three changes from the side that drew 1-1 with Leeds United last weekend, as Pau Torres, Lucas Digne and Jadon Sancho come into the team.
Emi Martinez starts in goal behind a defence of Matty Cash, Ezri Konsa, Torres and Digne.
Amadou Onana and Douglas Luiz continue in the double pivot, with Sancho, Morgan Rogers and Emi Buendia supporting striker Ollie Watkins.
Villa are targeting a win over Wolves to strengthen their position in the Champions League places ahead of Liverpool hosting West Ham and Chelsea playing at Arsenal this weekend.
The Premier League’s bottom club, Wolves, have won four of their last six league home games against Villa and are unbeaten in four since a 1-0 loss in December 2020.
However, each of Wolves’ last seven Premier League wins has come against teams in the bottom seven of the table, with those sides having an average position of 17th.
They are also winless in 17 games against sides in the top half since a 1-0 win at Bournemouth in February 2025.
Villa, meanwhile, have won three of their last four Premier League games against Wolves — as many as they had in their previous 15. Emery’s side are looking to complete the Premier League double over them for the first time since 2003–04.
Villa starting XI vs Wolves: Martinez; Cash, Konsa, Torres, Digne; Onana, Luiz; Sancho, Rogers, Buendia; Watkins.Subs: Bizot, Lindelof, Maatsen, Mings, Bogarde, Barkley, Bailey, Abraham, Alysson.
