Pep Guardiola has one thought about Leeds United right now – Daniel Farke has him ‘concerned’

There’s not a side in the country right now that thinks Leeds United away, under the lights, is an easy game. That includes Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

The Whites return to Elland Road this weekend for three successive fixtures, two in the Premier League and one in the FA Cup.

Up first in that trifecta is Manchester City. Pep Guardiola’s side are looking to regain their Premier League crown, but know they need a win to put the pressure back on Arsenal.

Pep Guardiola bigs up Elland Road as Leeds United v Manchester City clash looms

Yes, it’s Pep’s Man City. So, any actual confidence that we will get a result is incredibly optimistic.

However, there’s not a team remaining that comes to Elland Road that we shouldn’t fancy our chances of taking the game to. We’ve already taken points off third, fourth, fifth, and sixth at home.

Guardiola stressed after his side’s win over Manchester City that he would be putting the players through their paces this week to prepare for West Yorkshire. His pre-match press conference followed that same sentiment on Friday afternoon.

“Elland Road is Elland Road and Daniel made [good] last results,” Guardiola said. “They went to Stamford Bridge and Villa Park and got results. They have even the boost of the home crowd, but we’re ready for this challenge again.

“In ten years I’ve not been to Elland Road many times. Since Marcelo Bielsa promoted them to the Premier League we’ve been there and it’s an incredible stadium with a good vibe. We know it. I think there are a lot of Premier League stadiums that are traditional and really good, Elland Road is one of them.”

Guardiola was asked about his side’s capabilities of going on a typical winning run to the end of the season that has so often seen his Man City side edge out title races. However, the City legend was keen to quash that talk, only concerned with Elland Road.

“I’ve said many times, I would like to tell you but I don’t know,” Guardiola answered. “We went on this incredible run against Liverpool years ago, but I don’t know now.

“So, it’s Elland Road. That’s all, as a concern in my mind.”

Leeds United need to make life horrible for Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City

Our rapid start and aggressive performance against Chelsea is the blueprint here against Man City. We need to be out of the blocks flying and really get in Man City’s faces.

That’s of course incredibly tough against a better side that has so much experience in managing these situations.

However, if we want to stand any chance of victory, we need to be making Guardiola and his lineup feel the heat for 90 minutes.
